Can you still use Picuki today?

What happened to Picuki?

For years Picuki was one of the names people typed when they wanted to view Instagram without an account. Complaints about it are not new: a Reddit comment in a December 2024 thread describes a “technical difficulties” notice on Picuki that appeared every day for about a week.

On 24 September 2026, the answer was plainer. Opening picuki.com led, after a security check, to a different site that shows TikTok profiles. Opening Picuki’s usual profile address for a well-known public account led to a TikTok account of the same name, and to no Instagram content at all. A second attempt about ten minutes later gave the same result. So on that day Picuki did not work as an Instagram viewer, whatever happens to the address later.

That check and the others on this page were made one by one on the same afternoon, between 18:56 and 19:06 Central European time. Each ran in a clean desktop Chrome window with no VPN, from an address in the European Union. Viewers change without notice and can behave differently in other regions, so treat every row below as a snapshot with a date on it.

How to choose a Picuki alternative

Reddit threads about replacements keep returning to five demands, and the table below is built on them. A replacement should:

  • load a public account now, one you can also open in the app to compare;
  • ask for no account, neither an Instagram login nor a sign-up of its own;
  • cost nothing, at the first step or a later one;
  • go straight from a username to the profile;
  • show the part you need, whether that means a story, a highlight or a post.

A viewer fails outright if it wants your Instagram password or an email address, if a charge appears at any point, if an offer wall or a game has to be cleared before the profile appears, or if every search ends in an error.

Testing a viewer takes a minute. Look up a big public account that you can also open in the Instagram app, compare what each shows, and check whether a story that is live in the app appears on the site. If the viewer asks for anything before showing the profile, or shows an older story than the app, you have your answer. The safety side of the same test, including what any viewer’s servers receive, is set out in Is GazeStory safe to use?

Six viewers, checked on 24 September 2026

Each service was opened with the same large public account and the same steps: open the homepage, look up the account, note what appears and what the site asks for. Nothing was downloaded, signed into or paid for, and no offer or advert was completed.

picuki.comNo; sent to a TikTok viewerNoNoNothing from InstagramNot applicable
imginn.comYesNoA pop-up over the posts (in Polish for the testing region) offering to unlock content by watching a short advert; not completedHeader and highlights; posts behind the pop-up; the stories tab showed nothing newer than “25 days ago”Yes
storiesdown.comNo; the domain did not resolveUnknownUnknownNothingUnknown
gramhir.comNo; the address showed a registrar page saying “Domain registration has expired”UnknownUnknownNothingUnknown
smihub.comSent to dumpor.io, which openedNoNoHeader, posts, a live story; highlights offered only through a Telegram botOn the story; not seen on posts
anonyig.comYesNoA paid third-party downloader (Televzr) shown over the results; a “low quality” link closed it; no payment needed to viewHeader, posts, a live story, highlightsYes

The live story test is what separates viewers that look alike. A current story from the test account appeared on two sites that hour; the third showed nothing newer than 25 days. What each asked of visitors also differed: one asked for an advert to be watched to unlock posts, one showed a paid third-party downloader before the results, and one offered highlights only through a Telegram bot. None charged for viewing, none of the three that opened asked for a login of any kind, and all three say on their own pages that they show public profiles only.

This site’s answers to the same columns come from a separate check on 24 September 2026, made on a pre-release copy of the site using the same data source, not in the same session as the six above. GazeStory needs no login and asks for no payment, and the pre-release copy showed no offer wall. Since 29 September it does more than that copy did. For a public account it opens the header, recent posts with how long ago each went up and the comments under them, a separate reels tab, the stories the data source returned and the highlights with each clip, with a download button on every item; a tap on either follower count brings up the first handles on that list. GazeStory does not open private accounts or the list of who liked a post.

What no viewer of this kind can do

Some promises cannot be kept by anyone, and others were not seen working on any site checked here. None of the viewers above offered private accounts; all three that opened say they show public profiles only.

  • Private accounts. Posts and stories on a private account open only for followers the owner has approved. Instagram’s help page Make your Instagram account private shows the same setting from the owner’s side, and Can you view a private Instagram account? covers the paid services that claim otherwise.
  • Who liked a post. Search summaries sometimes describe viewers that list a post’s likes. None of the viewers checked here showed that, and this site does not either.
  • Full follower lists. One viewer above had a followers tab; on the day it showed a daily-limit notice and offered a bot instead. On a public profile this site lists only the opening stretch of both follower lists.
  • Expired stories. Instagram takes a story off the profile 24 hours after it is posted, unless it is added to a highlight. A viewer can show one after that only if it kept a copy while the story was live: one viewer checked here says it offers up to 24 extra hours, and another showed items marked “25 days ago” in its stories tab. This site shows only what the data source returns at the time.
  • Close friends stories. This site does not show them.

A viewer that promises something on this list is worth testing on a public account you know before you give it anything, and one that asks for payment for it is best left alone.

How viewers break, and what to do

When a viewer stops working, the symptom usually says which of four things happened:

  • An error on every search, or a “technical difficulties” notice. The service itself is failing, as a 2024 complaint about Picuki described for about a week. Waiting may help; switching usually helps faster.
  • “Account does not exist” or “post deleted” for things that are plainly still on Instagram. A Reddit comment in a March 2026 thread described exactly this. The fault is then probably on the viewer’s side; the account itself may be fine.
  • A sign-up form, an advert or an offer wall that was not there before. The service has changed its terms. Treat it as one of the reasons to rule a viewer out.
  • A notice that asks you to try again shortly. The viewer could not finish the lookup just then. Here it shows as a short countdown with a Retry button; a typo in the username can cause it too, so read the name back before retrying.

A missing story is not always a fault either. Instagram removes a story from the profile 24 hours after it goes up, so “no stories” can simply be the right answer. To see whether a replacement works, open a public profile and check it yourself against the app. The legal side of using any viewer is covered in Is it legal to view Instagram stories anonymously?

Questions people also ask

Can you still use Picuki?

Not as an Instagram viewer on 24 September 2026: picuki.com sent visitors to a TikTok viewer and showed no Instagram content for a public account. The address may change again, so check it before relying on it.

What is the best anonymous Instagram viewer tool?

There is no fixed answer, because these services change within weeks. Use one that works on a public account today without a login, payment or offer wall, and compare it with the app. The table above shows how six did on one date.

Is AnonyIG really anonymous?

This page does not rate individual services. On 24 September 2026 AnonyIG opened a public account without a login. Any web viewer still learns the name you look up and your IP address, so “anonymous” means your Instagram account is not used, not that nothing is seen.

Is there anyway to view someone’s Instagram story anonymously?

For public accounts, yes: a web viewer that asks for no login does not use your account. Tricks inside the app mostly fail, as How to view Instagram stories anonymously explains.

Do anonymous story viewers work?

Some do, on the day you use them, for public accounts only. On 24 September 2026, two of six showed a live story with no login, and two would not load.
