Content removal and DMCA

Last updated

Nothing is hosted here

GazeStory keeps no pictures, clips or account data of its own. A visitor’s browser asks a third-party data provider for a profile, and that provider collects what the owner has left public at that moment. Once the page is closed, this site holds nothing from it. So there is no stored copy to delete, and nothing set here can hide a particular account or post from anybody who looks it up.

Taking material off Instagram

Removal happens on Instagram. An owner who deletes a post or a story, or turns the account private, removes it from this site at the same moment, because the provider is only ever handed what Instagram still offers to everyone. People other than the owner can file a report through Instagram, including the IP complaint forms in Instagram’s Help Centre. Those reports, not anything done here, are what remove the material.

Every complaint sent to hello@gazestory.com gets an answer from a person. A DMCA complaint is complete when it names the work, points to the username or link concerned, affirms, in good faith, that no permission was given, declares itself accurate on the understanding that a false declaration is perjury, and gives a way to reply. When the complaint is about something this site controls, meaning its own writing and pictures, it is acted on. When it is about material on Instagram, the answer describes the route above.

Counter-notice

If this site took down something of its own after a complaint you consider mistaken, write to the same address with your contact details, the item concerned and your reasons. It is then forwarded to whoever made the first complaint.
